Default 2009 tdi tuner / chip

Hello all,

just did the audi diesel fix and I am displeased with my “performance”. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for chips/tuners that take it back to original or with a bit more power without compromising the fuel economy too much?

any suggestion would be greatly appreciated

Malone Stage 1, more than original power, and fuel economy will improve.

Malone has the best reputation.

What problems have have you experienced with the EPA fix?

It just feels like a totally different vehicle. The best way to describe the difference is that before the fix the car would love to accelerate up hills and with ease, now it feels like when you press the pedal the car responses with “ok....I guess I’ll go up the hill....if you want me too...” (say that in an Eeyore voice hahaha)

i cannot say say anything about fuel economy because it hasen’t been that long since I did the fix. The car even sounds different to me.

I have been holding off on getting the fix because of reviews such as yours. I am not looking forward to experiencing the fix first hand.

i was sort of strong armed into doing the fix because it was rumoured that the one and only insurance company (government run) where I live would not insure vehicles that had not had the fix done.

I would have preferred to have just kept the vehicle the way it was rather than have to tune/chip it. But C’est la vie and here we are, I am researching chips and tuning hahaha.

Sounds like you have the right attitude. I am waiting until April 2020 to get the fix. Hopefully I don’t regret it.

Did you get a reflash. Just curious on thoughts. I picked up a 2010 which had the fix done before I bought it. I have zero to compare. Drives very nice though and I am thinking of tuning it. Oddly enough. It would take me 15 minutes to walk to Malone's shop. I live that close. So did you get a reflash, Stage 1, 2 or ? I am leaning stage 2. What I wonder is stage one says 12 ft pounds and to me is that even noticeable.
