Default 2014 Q7 'Shift to P or vehicle can roll away...' Key stuck in ignition also

2014 Q7 message 'Shift to P or vehicle can roll away.' Key also in ignition and wont come out. Car will not start. Cannot move shifter.

Key stuck in the ignition, means the battery is low.

You can remove it by pressing a button in the key area to release it with a paperclip or an ink pen tip. Remove the button release cover, the green rectangle on the right side of the key in the photo to access the button.

Wow 2014 with a bad battery already? Did you leave the lights or something else on?

I’ve been wondering when is the best time to replace the original battery on our 2014. Is 5 years appropriate?
