Default Anyone have instructions on how to remove shift boot (not shifter)

I while ago I swapped my shifter for a facelift style shifter out of an Audi A4/A5. It hooked right on and worked fine, but the shift boot is the wrong size, anyone know how I can swap the shift boot from my old shifter to this new one? Is there any website who sells just the shift boot for the Q7? Thanks.

Hi D3, I did this on my C6 with the newer C7 shifter awhile back and actually ended up basically stitching the new cover onto the old boot to make it fit correctly...otherwise it just didn't seat correctly.

Get yourself a used one from ebay or try the local junkyard/recycler or even Aliexpress. GL

Thanks for the info Raj, I think I'm going to go that route, or somehow swap the bottom clip with the staples. It's not that annoying, I just would like it to look flush with the rest of the interior.

You should be able to unclip the existing (original) boot from the actual **** and fit it to the new one. Thats what I did with my C6 A6 when I swapped to the C7 ****.

Getting the original boot off is relatively easy - you just have to remove the black ring that the boot end is tucked into on the bottom go the ****, then reverse the process for fitting to the new one.

Ive didn't have to buy a new gaiter/boot.

That's exactly what I was wondering, thank you. I will have to look later today.
