AV, I'd purchase the Akebono ceramics before I fitted more Brembo ceramic pads. I find the pedal effort with the OE Brembos to be absurd.

Just replaced the pads and rotors, front and rear with the OEM (Brembo). Dust is horrible but at least they stop. BUT, the rears are squeaking badly at low speeds. Any idea why and what the remedy is?

Normally that happens when the friction material just happens to resonate with the brake system. Manufacturers test out all sorts of pads and pick the ones that don't do that on the particular car. I am thinking what you got was not the same as stock.

Bought them from the dealer but who knows what the installer did or didn't do. Sometimes saving money just isn't worth it.

Agreed. Should help.
On ours I have replaced pads twice. (rotors once). First set was OEM because I loved the way they stopped. Second set I chose Centric ( Stoptech) posi-quiet semi metallic. They feel great. Exactly like OEM. They ARE a bit dusty but they are quiet. It is very rare that they squeal at all.

The rears were a whole 4 months later the sensors hit the rotor, so I did not do them at once - in-fact this is our 4th Q7 and I can't recall ever doing them all at once.

I'm worse than you. When our left front sensor wore through I cut the sensor wires and tied them together with a crimp on connector. Drove another 10000 miles and still was not metal to metal. Those sensors leave lots of pad to spare.

lol, that is just awesome... reminds me of when I "fixed" my exhaust system on my 1970 chevelle with a coat hanger.

I looked around and it looks like Akebono does not make pads for the Q7.
