Downgrading from 20" wheels
2013 Q7 with some sline additions... the sticker on the door says 275/45/R20. I want to downgrade to 18" for winter but I'm getting kind of confused.
There seems to be 2 versions of the 18" wheels,
235/65/R18 - these seem to be OEM wheels and tires
255/55/R18 - these tend to be aftermarket wheel and tires.
According to wheel-size.com the OEM ones are off by -1.0% and the aftermarket ones are -2.4%. https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?whe...cl=50mm&sr=0mm
has anyone downgraded from 20 to 18s for the winter? what spec did you use

I'm putting a set of 235/60R18 Yokohama Ice Guard IG51V FN 107T on my 2012 S-Line next weekend. The wheels previously were mounted on a Q7 so I know they work, but it's best to plug the width and offset into a calculator to make sure they will clear the calipers, suspension, body, etc.
Currently it has 295/35R21's for summer, and https://tiresize.com/comparison/ shows a 0% deviation in circumference between summer and winter.
TireRack shows 255/55R18 as OEM, with an alternate of 235/60R18 for winter tires.

I bought stock porshe cayenne black turbo 18's last night and put them on. They fit perfectly thanks. 255/55/R18. Jacking the car was the most difficult part.
I wish there was an easier way to use a hydraulic service jack and jackstands at the same time.

I use a hydraulic floor jack and place jack stands under hard points of the front and rear subframes. I do place a piece of rubber over the jack stand top to prenvent scratching the paint on the subframes. Works fine but I AM shopping for a lift when I get my backyard shop— barn finished. Getting too old for all this stooping, crawling ;-)

Personally, I consider it an upgrade. I can't understand what's so good about putting an expensive rubber band on a big wheel. Tires cost more, ride is worse, and more curbed wheels.

@tigerwillow1 I would definitely agree, my 21" tires were irrationally expensive, and I'm going to try and unload them as soon as the rubber wears down.
