Default Is this engine even legal in the USA?

Hahahahaha. Just found this on eBay

Engine Complete New OEM 08 14 Audi Q7 V12 6 0 L Code Ccga | eBay

If someone put this in their US Spec Q7, would that be illegal? I find this quite funny as we can't import a European car into the United States until it's 25 years old, but Euro V12 Diesel engines are fine. Haha. If I had a 2015 Sport Plus, and A LOT of cash laying around, this would be a very fun project. One can only dream I guess. Haha!

You would need a different gearbox, ceramic brakes, ECU, wiring etc

The hard part would be finding a KMT 0BQ ZF6HP32 transmission, the rest is easier but costly. The ceramic brake retrofit is about $30k but I have seen them for sale for as "cheap" as $18k new.

Default interesting but...

That would cost so much money to convert to a US car that I think it would be very foolish unless you plan on keeping it forever. I am in the process of converting two S-line sport seats and so far it has cost $$$$.$$ and they are not in the car yet.

the V10 Touareg is the best car that Volkswagen has ever built in my opinion.. Still a very rare car, it would probably be very hard to source a transmission and engine. Talking theoretically here but this would be such a cool build thread to see someone start, maybe if I win the lottery I'll do something like this! Hahahahaha! It's very unfortunate that Audi stopped plans to sell the V12 here, if I remember correctly, I read somewhere that Audi had plans to bring the V12 to the USA in 2008 or 2009 but the poor sales of the V10 Touareg and the financial crisis of 08' stopped the V12 Q7 from ever hitting US shores.

What issues are you running into? I thought you had installed them and everything worked?

I'd be curious to see if the USA and state DMVs with their smog testing , etc. would even allow this kind of retrofit. Even the 4.2 TDI would be a cool retrofit for a US model. But I have a feeling the US EPA wouldn't even allow that.

The V10 Touareg engine is reality is no better than the 4.2 TDi in the Q7 and the A8.
