Factory Installed VS OEM/Aftermarket Trailer Hitch?
I have a 2008 4.2 S-Line without a hitch, and have read there are essentially 2 options to upgrade. One is to install all OEM parts (including new bumper cover) for the "factory-installed" look and feel, and the second involves OEM parts but looks quite different from the factory-installed option.
Does anyone have any pic's of both options for a side-by-side visual comparison?
How much more does the factory-installed option run?
Anything to consider regarding wiring/wiring upgrades?

Factory installed actually means the car was built with larger transmission coolers hence the higher tow rating. Its not just about OEM parts at the hitch.
Having the right trailer control module also gives you other benefits and safety in the programming.
If you don't need the higher capacity then fitting OEM parts and module will be fine. Its been done before lots of times.
There should be plenty of links to pics, DIY and part numbers in the Q7 Spreadsheet.
