Fuel filler funnels and pump shutoffs....
I just bought my first Audi...and my first diesel...two days ago - a 2011 Q7 TDI. I've already found the forums very helpful, and I thank you.
I decided, based on the research I had done so far, to go ahead and use a cetane booster/injector cleaner (Power Service) because of the B20 fuel I'm required to have here in MN, so I bought some yesterday and added it. It was not a painless process, since I needed to pour so slowly due to the metal flap, which caused it to dribble down the sides of the bottle and onto my hands, etc. I started looking for a funnel designed for diesel necks to make this easier, and kept running across one made by/for Ford diesels. I'm assuming that if it operates one diesel neck to open the flap, it should operate all, but I wanted to see if anyone here had experience with them before dropping the massive $7 to get one. Or if someone has a favorite for any particular reason.
Second, when I picked it up, it had about 1/8 of a tank. So I stopped on my way home to buy my first tank of diesel fuel. Everything went well until then end, when the pump backpressure cutoff didn't work. Fuel gushed all over. Obviously a sample size of 1 is not statistically significant, but I'm curious if it could be a problem with the neck or is more likely a problem with that specific nozzle? And is there a way for me to tell other than "it happened several more times"?

This is what you want:
Actually because you run B20, you need additives less since your lubrication is higher than B5/B0 but it wont hurt.
Never had any diesel overflow ever, lots of ****ty diesel nozzles tho.. make sure your not using the high flow diesel pumps ment for the big trucks..

Thanks. I can't imagine it was a high-flow nozzle, as it was not set aside from other pumps, and I had it at the lower of the two flow settings. I guess I'll just keep an eye on it and see how it does.

That funnel works great, thanks. And I'm happy to report my second fill-up shut off as it should. Just apparently had a bad nozzle that first time.
