Default How to assign settings to each key

My wife and I both share our new 2011 Q7.
I was able to setup mine and her seat preference in Memory 1 and Memory 2
how can I assign that to key fob? i tried it in the MMI but it doesn't work... I still have to hold down on 1 to get to my settings.

am I missing something?

Make sure key memory is activated in MMI. Seat 1 and 2 are personal to each key. The second key will not assume position 2 is meant as position 1 for it. After you have set it up the way you want with one key lock the car with that key. Then unlock the car with the other key and set up seats, mirrors, heating, radio lights and whatever else you want with that key then lock the car to store those settings. Then when you unlock everything moves to whichever key you are holding. Just remember if you unlock with one key or the car is left unlocked and you arrive with the other key remember to press unlock (even though its open) with that key to move all settings otherwise you will merely duplicate all your settings on the other key when you lock.

Thanks for the quick tip... do you have to LOCK to store settings? that might be my problem, I did not LOCK the car after storing setting maybe it didn't stick.

i will try it this afternoon

Yes "Lock" to store new settings.
