Default Letter from Audi 2011 Q7 TDI

Anyone receive a letter in Dec. alleging vermin 3.0L TDI do not comply with emission regulations? If so what are you hearing as possible remedies?

I wonder what the remedy will be? I have an 09, a 2017 wouldn't be bad, haha

the submitted resolution so far is a software update... (my speculation is that it will be to remove the defeat software or to keep it in inspection mode indefinitely.)

Yes, We have all gotten that letter as far as I know. It does not say much does it? The main issue right now is "How much has this impacted resale value? " In my opinion we are all kind of frozen with our TDIs right now. We could not trade if we wished too without possible negative impact on value and we MIGHT miss out on compensation from Audi that comes later. Extending warranties HAS been rumored but our Q7 is CPO so we already have that to 100k miles. 4 cylinder VW diesel owners have already received $1000 in gift cards as a "good will" gesture. We have had nothing-----. I still love the powertrain and it's performance. I REALLY hope that the software and or hardware changes don't negatively affect that. I'm gonna make an educated guess that we get a software update that puts the emissions hardware in compliance mode all the time and a lifetime warranty on emissions related problems. I too wonder if the changes will make problems with those systems occur more frequently. I would be happy with something like this and maybe double loyalty discounts when you trade a TDI in whenever that happens.

look at it as a positive thing... the fact that they have done nothing means there is probably nothing wrong with the 3.0tdi or very little that will impact value or owner satisfaction otherwise they would've been all over you first. (just my thought.)

before this news hit who was even thinking of selling to begin with? if you liked your q7 before you'll probably be happy with it after providing mpg/hp and driving characteristics do not change dramatically.
