Default MMI Firmware Upgrade

I just upgraded my MMI software version from 4140 to 4610 and lost my Handyvorb2 on the MMI menu. MY07 Q7
Guess my telephone module died. Any suggestions on getting it to work?

Being that you've updated your own firmware, I image you've tried the obvious stuff, but did you try a hard reset?
(Press and hold these buttons, until it reboots.)

Tried that. I have rear the TSB about the firmware upgrade but only after doing it. No luck. I was wondering if I could revert back to 4140. I will try that today. I have the Audi disc for both 4140 and 4610 firmware upgrades.
Thanks for your reply.

You have to access the MMI for car, setup, and go to settings. The upper right button and scroll to version. That will give you your current firmware version. Hope this helps.

Dealer said it was pretty common for the firmware upgrade to fry the telephone or bluetooth modules. I had to replace the bluetooth after my last firmware upgrade.

Should we disconnect the telephone/bluetooth modules before carrying out firmware upgrades as a precaution?

Not to be a downer, by why bother with an upgrade when everything is working well? In IT, I always tell people to upgrade only when there is something not working or a feature that is important to you. Upgrades almost always break something.
