Default Q7 2008 temperature gauge issue

How the temperature gauge sits when I知 going 100km/ph, even after 2 hours.
Hi everyone 😊

I am a first time Q7 owner and brought my car only a month ago from a private sale. I have no paperwork history of the car ( stupidly) trusted the lady I brought it from with what she said. I have since had the car in for a full service and check over, and my mechanics have discovered a few issues, the main one being the temperature gauge on the dash.

The car car seems to heat up and run at a normal temperature, but the indicator on the dash hardly moves from 50- the lowest it can go. Sometimes if I知 going slowly in traffic or if I am towing my horse trailer it will get hotter but immediately drops back down when I speed up or take the trailer off. I will attach a picture that I took after I finished a 2 hour drive at 100km/ph, it definitely should be running hotter than it is saying.

The mechanics have now changed both the temperature sensor and the thermostat and it is still doing it. They have no idea what else it could be, so I知 wondering if anyone on here knows what it may be or has had a similar issue? Maybe wiring?

I have a feeling this car is a total lemon as there have been a lot of other issues pop up within the month so I am getting very concerned!

Any help is much appreciated! Thank you 😊
