Q7 Extended Warranty / Audi Care Plus
Noob here...as I've stated on other threads, I just bought a 2008 3.6L Premium Q7 for the wifey. It only has 46K miles on it, so plenty of life left in it. I was thinking about getting an extended warranty, but am not so sure now...
The Land Rover dealership (where we bought it) offered one for $4800 (covers mechanical repairs) for 5 years. I passed. I then tried the Costco VPP through Century. They're quoting me $5937 (for 5 years) w/ a $500 deductible.
I've never bought an extended warranty and am not sure if it's really worth it with my Q7. Sure, Audis can be pricey to maintain, but I feel like $6K + a $500 deductible isn't going to be worth it in the long run.
Has anybody purchased the Audi Care Plus for routine maintenance? Thoughts on that as well?

FWIW - I'm looking at purchasing an Audi / Fidelity warranty (from an Audi dealership) for a 2007 Q7 w/ 44k miles.
They offer a Platinum policy which cover nearly everything that the factory warranty covers.
With a deductible of $250 they quoted me roughly:
$2900 for 3yr / 36k
$3600 for 4yr / 48k
$4400 for 5yr / 60k

i've had audicare on a few cars and the big ticket items are not part of it... (eg: brake pads, rotors, tires, etc.) it's basically pre-paid services at a slight discount... in retrospect i would not get it again.
in regards to the warranty contact brucem. he is our resident warranty guy and will get you better pricing than anyone around with more coverage.

Slight hijack: Can't you get same maintenance a lot cheaper at a local shop instead of Audi dealer? That is my intention.

I have Audi Care on my '09 A4 and it's been fine. Granted, it's nothing really special, but I do like the feeling of not paying anything when I take it in for routine maintenance. We plan on keeping the Q7 for a number of years, so I may just end up buying it. I wish there was a nice break down of the routine maintenance fees, so I could compare the savings.

we had ours that was a CPO car and practically everything that ended up going wrong with it of course wasn't covered so didn;t really account to much and opened our eyes on what the CPO stuff really meant other than warranty coverage (at least for Audi)

yes. just keep all your documents because if there is a major failure or serious issue audi will say you did not maintain your car properly since there will not be any service records on file.
