Rear Brake / Signal Light Gremlin
So I thought I'd throw it by the gang here to see if anyone has experienced anything similar. My '10 TDI started indicating an issue with the right rear tail light a few days ago. This is the one in the hatch, not the lower bumper light. Inspecting the lights visually they seem fine - I ran the hazards, signal and applied the brake and couldn't tell any difference between the right and left and could see nothing that would indicate a bad LED. Anyways, not thinking too long and hard about it I grabbed my tools and figured out how to remove the assembly, which looks fine to me with no signs of anything amiss. It is all nice and sealed up with no signs of any water intrusion or anything like that.
Should I try disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for half an hour to reset the ECU? Any other ideas what I can try? I don't have any way to talk to the car - worst case I am gonna go by a dealer soon to authorize my goodwill package and I could schedule an appointment to have them diagnose it.
