Yesterday I still heard the noise when I was rolling the car into the garage... but I didn't hear anything today... I will keep you guys posted. I highly doubt that it was the brake dust that's causing the squeaking noises. It sounds like metal to metal contact..

Default I have the same problem on 2008 Q

10,000 miles; my dealer says it's the type of brake pads they use which is susceptible to dust build. I want new pads if this is the case; it's annoying and not acceptable.

My dealer replaced caliper, problem went away ('08 4.2 Q7). Had to bring it in 3 times until it was fixed. 9K miles in my case. AoA got involved (dealer called them) to solve issue.

They first.
1) lubed caliper
2) replaced kinked parking brake cable
3) replaced caliper.

Here's a link to what I heard:

I'm very happy now.

Thanks.. but I wonder how many times my dealer might take to solve the problem. And I wonder if there will be any future problems that might surface if I don't take care of the squeaking sound.

Also, which brake calipers did your dealer replace?

Dealer replaced rears. They thought it was parking brake at first.

Default I had the exact same problem

The dealer finally decided to replace all four discs and brake pads and this is after bringing the Q in 3 times. They try the cheap solutions first machining the discs, then they blame brake dust, then the emergency brake ect... When the brakes are wet I never heard any noise. It is the same exact annoying problem I had but anyways it has been 3 months now and I have not heard a squeak since they replaced all 4 brakes and pads.

UPDATE:

I finally brought my car to the dealer to take care of brake dragging problem and they replaced the rear calipers. The squeaking went away for 2 days and it's back again.

What's happening?
