Since I have no real need for a 3rd row I'm really interested in the new Jaguar F-Pace. About $70K will get you a fully loaded Sport, with 380HP SC V6.

Correction- not all 3.0 TDI
I am in market for a 2012 TDI Q7 and on the phone with a few audi dealers today. The stop sale is only for 2013 to 2016. I don't know why but that is what they are tellng me and WSJ reports below.
One dealer won't sell me a 2012 either because they want to be sure....

With the changes to the MDX it can't compete with the Q7. I have a 2007 MDX (purchased in 2007), bought specifically for it's towing capacity though we didn't get the boat until 2014. The new model has a vastly reduced towing capacity so it's a no go. Made me kind of sad as the new MDXs look nice. After the MDX redesign it was either a Toureg or Q7. The new Touregs have a fantastic interior, but I also wanted the cargo room and 3rd row seat. Buying an Escalade is just as expensive and I'd perfer an Audi and TDI so it wasn't really a hard choice. But my 5 day old Q7 is looking at me with guilty eyes now.

i prefer the 2008-2014 MDX over most cars in that segment. it is the best value (IMO).
the escalade is an expensive POS. used it's $70k and barely worth half that for the level of quality it offers. i had two brand new GMC vehicles (basically the same crap) both with a 70k+ window sticker and both within 500 miles were taken back to the dealership because of tremendous amounts of issues. somewhere over on QW i posted about it.

I know, most people wouldn't cross shop them, like I said, they are on different levels... Way different MSRP's... And different specs.. But when it comes to size.. They are similar.. A fully loaded Dodge Durango is $54k... And it has a lot of nice features, but it's very cheap inside.. But size comparison.. And towing comparison, it is similar.. But I hear you.. Most people who are considering an Audi are looking to stay in the luxury car segment, so the they would never consider a dodge.
