Yeah, and that would be fantastic. But, you also have to drop the dough on it. For my purposes, it wouldn't be worth it. So far, I've used it two different times to pull a trailer. One was a dual axle 6x12 enclosed U-Haul, and one would be hard-pressed to know it was even back there. The second was a car-hauler: I moved a 2010 Subaru Forester with it. I could have used to adjust the positioning of the car to be better balanced to put less weight on the Q7, but, aside from that, it pulled it beautifully.

I suppose if you pulled trailers regularly or needed it for a very long trip, springing for the factory harness might be worth it.

I added the factory stuff to my '07 3.6 (but no bigger coolers), and my '07 4.2 w/factory air came with the tow package and I added a brake controller. My 20ft enclosed car trailer pulls great behind it...

I do not have the electric trailer brakes but do have the control module/unit. Not sure how you are going to connect without it.
mksap11 also posted this pic while he was doing his own curt install.
So can you just connect direct to the harness?
How will you overcome bulb fail screen?

Thanks, Wes, for the pictures - very helpful. Where did you connect your 12V power? To the battery? To the fuse box in the rear? To the 12V plug in the rear?
