Default updating nav database

I bought my last ever new Audi (unless, of course, they come back to market with another diesel) this year, a brand new 2015 Q7 TDI. It made it nearly a full thousand clicks before going in for warranty on emissions issue and remote lock would not receive key fob lock signal. Now you know why my screen name here.

Don't get me wrong, I love the car. Bought this one to replace a crashed '14. BUT: when my wife took her (yeah, not mine) car into local Audi store for warranty, she asked about getting the nav system updated (was already well out of date in 2015) they told her it would be a $700 or $800 bill!!!!!!! I have seen and heard of some pretty abusive crap from VWAG, but this one takes the cake.

What is the work around to get nav data in this vintage of Audi????

You could go through this link and do it yourself. I upgraded the MMI software and it worked. I have not done the maps yet. https://upgrademyaudi.net/tutorials/...ation-systems/

Thanks for the link! I am thinking of doing the upgrade from them as well bundle (firmware & maps) price 80 pounds downloading or get the bundle on Sd for 130 pounds (about $168). I don’t feel confident doing the download (zip files) and transferring to SD card. Has anyone else bought this update? As I understand it you have to update the firmware to update the maps 2019.

I only did the firmware update and just downloaded it. If I do the maps I will download that as well.

Dudeness,
did the update of the firmware make a significant difference? Was the download difficult, I’m not real good with moving files around.
