Upgrading 2012 Q5 to flat bottom steering wheel

I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade the original steering wheel in a 2012 S-line Q5 to the flat bottom steering wheel and if there are any mechanical or performance issues when doing so. thx.

Well

I don’t know about a q5 to q7 swap but I swapped my 2012 wheel for a European 2012 wheel with paddle shifters. Everything worked the same but I had to set a couple of options with my vagcom and I couldn’t get the wheel heat to work ever.

I am not sure, but I did upgrade my steering wheel on my A3 to one with paddles. I had to reprogram the ECU to make it work. I am guessing most of the buttons can be made to work. It was the airbag that was my concern.
