I will double check that. I have always just went to the Auto store, had them look up the bulb in the computer and that is what I have always bought. I buy 4 boxes at a time so I can just replace them on the fly. I will actually run out there and check. I would die if I have been doing this for almost 2 years and it was because they were the wrong bulbs...

Yeah they are 7506 bulbs. I will say, over the last few months, only the passenger side, the closest to the outside has been burning out about every 2 weeks, and the others have been fine. Not sure what is causing that one to burn out bulbs so quickly. The socket looks fine too. But, no matter, all 4 of them will eventually burn out within 3 months. Ugh I hate that because I am always just waiting for that warning light to come on...

Did you try changing the brand of bulbs? I use the sylvania 7506 long lasting bulbs and they've been good so far..

Yes I only use Sylvania... and since I posted last, ALL 3 other bulbs blown, the last one last night. I will be good until the end of November and then I'll have to do it all over again..

Me again. Well now the same outside passenger side bulb is burning out, and now only lasts around 1 or 2 days max. I have went through 5 bulbs in 7 days. It seems whatever is causing this has got really bad. Not sure what to do. The other bulbs have remarkably lasted close to 6 months now. So its just this 1 bulb

Wow, I didn't know this problem existed. My 2008 3.6 haven't had any burnt out bulbs. Are they parking light or brake?
Cheers,
Louis

Mine is the outside passenger bulb and I believe it is parking and a brake light. All 4 light up. The other 3 are probably over 1 to 2 years old now. They for some reason just don't burn out anymore. The outside bulb still blows but is back to lasting around 1 to 2 months. There is no rhyme or reason either. The odd thing is the filament is NOT what is burning out, and in most cases the bottom is not melted or even scolded. So something inside the base of the bulb is shorting out. I use a TON of bulb grease which seems to help make them last longer. I do have 4 new LED bulbs but I have yet to put them in. I am scared the voltage spikes would just burn those out too and I am not going to drop $20 each time one of those burns out every 2 months ha. I'm so used to it now replacing that 1 bulb it doesnt even bother me now.. From what I gather, this is very common on Audi and VW. Good times
