Audi USA normally kills the LED tail lights here (A8, Q7), I have a 2007 Audi Q7 old style tail lights

LED tailights are standard on all 2010+ Q7's... but the previous post indicated they might have a slightly different behavior.

Reading these posts, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that preferred the earlier tail lights. Thought it was just me. I love the DRL's on the front, but I just don't like the rear LED's at all, maybe because they don't really seem to look like LED's as I expect them or maybe because they just look like the sort of cheap sh*tty lights on a Japanese or Korean car. Doesn't help having previously had an A6 with those ultra cool LED tail lights which everyone would remark about!

Audi seem to have mastered the front DRL's on all of their models, but it's almost like they can't make their minds up about the rear ends which are different on every model!

Sometimes in moving forward I think Audi inadvertently step sideways or backwards, the new A8 being a good case in point, which has gone from being what used to look like a distinctive luxury car, to what now, from any distance further than 20 feet, looks just the same as an A4.

Yeah, I agree, I think Audi really has lost something with the lighting design... it might sound a bit nit-picky but it is less distinctive, but at least the sheet metal is still pretty sweet.

I do like the design, AudiUSA killed it by changing the way they light up. The Q5 in Europe and USA works the same, why did Audi North America change it for the Q7?.

Other than the blinker being red vs. orange... how is it different in the US?

Maybe a 2011 Audi Q7 owner can post a video, all lights turn on when breaking or when turn indicator on.

There was another post which explained this as well earlier in the thread. The US spec cars use both the strip at the top of the light and the center section when the turn signals are activated. In ROW cars, just the top strip blinks while the center is only activated with the brakes(and also is orange vs red in the US). In your video above the setting is ROW other than having red centers.

Well... I agree that the ROW design is much better... but it is a very easy vag-com change to get the ROW behavior (I just wish i had ordered the ROW tailights with the orange blinkers.)
