Default Air conditioned glovebox? Does it exist and how well does it work??

Hi guys. I'm looking to purchase an '08 Q7 at the close of the year and noticed here on the model guide press kit that the Q7 comes with an air conditioned glovebox. Is this really true? I've test driven a few Q7's and never noticed this feature or had it pointed out to me by dealers(we all know how knowledgeable they can be).Sounds cool if it does. If it does in fact exist is it similar to the coolboxes that are in the Lexus LS and BMW 7 series? Obviously this is no deal breaker for me. But I like to take not of the little things and cool features. Thanx in advance

Its just a vent from the AC into the glovebox. If your AC is on and that vent is open your glove box is cooled.

Thanx for the reply and clarification. As an owner, do you ever find yourself using it? Or has the "gimmick" worn of for you?

Well, I guess if you dropped by a boutique candy store in some small ritzy town and bought some homemade fudge in July and wanted to keep it from melting on the way home it would do fine in the glovebox.

I have had this in my VW's for last few years, honestly I forget its there.

As others noted, it is basically an A/C vent in the glovebox. I forget it's there until it comes in handy, which it did recently:

My brother-in-law and I took my 18 month old daughter to the zoo. We stopped to pick up a six pack of beer on the way back to our hotel room. My daughter fell asleep in the car on the way back to our hotel. It was 95 degrees outside. Daughter slept for an hour and half in the car while we drove around (so as to not wake her up). When we got back to the hotel, we had four warm beers and two ice cold ones - thanks to our A/C'd glovebox.

LMAO....Niiiiice! Well it's cool to know it can accomodate drinks for two and actually keep them cool. Just another reason to own this car.
