Anybody else finding out that their heated mirrors aren't working?
Never checked it when the car was delivered. Just finding it out now that the weather is getting crappy and we're stuck parking outside during a remodel project.
At least it goes in the shop soon.
On a similar note, anybody else notice that the heat takes a really long time to kick in?

Then what turns them on? Do you think yours come on when you have the rear defroster on?
I'm almost positive that my owners manual for my Q7 says that the switch needs to be put in the middle position for heat.
I might have been wrong once but then again, I may be wrong on that.

There does appear to be a TSB on mirror heating...
TSB 64 07 05
It looks like it applies to 07s.
Something to do with voltage detection by the door control modules.
The language is a little odd but it does state that heating could be "significantly delayed".
The TSB also seems to indicate that correct operation is to leave the switch in the heated position - once the engine is started the switch can be moved without affecting the heating. It does state that if you move the switch to adjust mirrors, it should be moved back before the next enging start.

I'm guessing yours is a US spec model and if so the manual even states that.......
the heated mirrors are activated when the rear defrost feature is engaged. If yours are not coming on this way my thought is that it may be faulty, but then again if it doesn't bother you.......no harm no foul ;-)
