It's just like the "lawyer" screens on Lexuses. To see the map, you have to press the map button, or all you will see, if the area where you input, where you want to go.

Is there anyway to defeat this?

I have been searching for this without any luck I bought a 2012 Audi S5 a month ago and I am so disappointed with the electronics/navigation/radio, etc...oh well, I'm stuck with it for a while.

realistically, Audi had to make a choice.

if they made it so the map came up first, people looking to input an address would say they dont like the extra button press to go there. i may be in the minority but i feel that when you press the 'navigation' button it seems logical to assume you wish to navigate somewhere....not just see where you are

personally whenever i drive the Q im clicking and pressing all over the place so that extra button press for the map doesnt bother me a bit. (i use the Q and Navi for work when driving sometimes) i know some folks 'set it and forget it' but i go from sirius to ipod to phone calls to navi and then when the song i liked goes off im doing it all over again

i cant even leave the wiper setting alone in the rain...the auto feature works fine but im still adjusting the little rocker switch that controls how much moisture before a wipe...im hopeless...lol

do a firmware update and it will move the warning to a new layer...

the warning will only come on if you hit a button or try to use nav while in motion then you have to agree.
