Does 2008 Ipod interface see Playlists?

Our Q7 just arrived at the dealer and I want to create a playlist on our iPod and bring it when we take delivery this week.

I believe the 2007 just listed all the songs in alphabetical order. This kind of stinks. What funtionality/views will we be getting? Such as ability to view by Artists, Album, Genre, Playlists...

One problem with the iPod interface

On my iPod in the car, if I choose a song from an artist from the list of "all", I often find that the title is not matched with the song being played...it plays the song after the one that is shown on the MMI. However, if I go into the actual album rather than the "all" list, it is fine. If I disconnect the iPod and play it through my headphones, the "all" functions work.

I have found this with three different iPods, and completely reinstalled the iPod software and loaded all songs on the unit again to try and correct this issue....to no avail.

I can't figure out why this happens. It definitely is not the iPod
