Mirror Tilt Down function

Hi guys, I know some of you doesn't have the Mirror Tilt down on reverse. I was playing around with it and noticed mine doesn't do that (08 model) but I've seen mine did it. It turns out I had it in the Heated Mirror position. You must have it set to the Passenger side Mirror adjust position for it to tilt down on reverse! (not sure if it works on the driver side... I can try later) Just wanna let you guys know that your 07 "should" come w/ it!

I believe all 2007 models did. It is not a feature on the drivers side though. I really do.......

wish I didn't have to move the mirror switch to the middle evertime to get the mirrors to heat up. My allroad does not need to do this so why would Audi do this? Maybe a scan with the VAG-COM could fix this.

It has been covered a lot, but...

no harm.
You can adjust its tilt down reverse position too. You have to set it while the car is in reverse and running.

edit: our ten year old UrS6 Avant has the right side only mirror dip feature. Close, city curb parking was never better...say's the Avus alloy wheels.

The outside mirror control switch, that having a specific position for mirror heat, would seem to be a Volkswagen/Audi AG trend. Our MY06 VW TDI has this mirror switch arrangement as well; It's a clumsy functionality at best. (A VagCom search didn't reveal any useful parameter function.) Our ten year old MY95.5 UrS6 Avant has an elegant dash mounted switch arrangement which starts and times out the function of both the outside mirrors and the rear window defroster. (it's worked flawlessly since new in the harsh winters of Colorado) Why would a manual on/off control of the heated mirrors be desired? Do ya suppose there's a product discontent benefit for VW/Audi?
