There was a lot of talk regarding the clear lamps recently. We received a set of the clear taillights (pt# 4L0 052 100, $392.00) and have them on display on a Q7 in our showroom. Now that Audi has them available I thought I would share some pics as we are taking orders.

As a "to be" Q7 owner shortly I was looking into these rear light accessories, and have some questions if you would be so kind to answer. Are they manufactured from Polycarbonate plastic or "glass" as the Audi UK accessory brochure confirms?
In addition what is the level of skill required to install them? Finally its a pity the example car is not in Ice Silver as per the colour of my Q7 order!!!!

 

They seem to be the same plastic as the oem "red ones" are made of. As far as the skill level? It is not very involved technically, just a little time consuming. Three screws for mounting, two of which are accessed through access panels inside the rear lid. The third screw is ougher and requires the interior panel to be removed to access.

Yes, these do come with instructions... in many languages!
