Replacing a front diff
Hi
I need to replace the front diff on q7 but does the serial number have to match?
I have found one where only the last 3 members are different I'm i able to use it?

Well, a serial number is *never* going to match because it's a serial number... so it is unique by design!
The part number will, ideally, match, but they do change and/or update these things with surprising regularity. What should definitely match is the gear ratio in the differential and the physical size and connections (for both axles and the drive shaft). As long as those are good, then yes, you'll have no problems with compatibility. If you type the part number into a site like parts.audiusa.com, it should give you additional information to go on.
