Default Tire Pressure for '11 S-Line 20" OEM

Hi all,

Loving my S-Line, about 1200 miles now, looking to dial in the best tire pressure. The sticker inside the door says 44 psi rear, 49 front...sounds really high, any recommendations? Normal load is 70 pounds of kids and ~ 150 lbs of black lab in the trunk!

Thanks,
EE

You have a 150lb black lab?! I want to see pics!

There was a post a little while back about tire pressures in which someone posted an explanation from Luke at TireRack about how those sticker pressures came to be and his recommendations (I think he said 34-36). I've been running them around 38-40 and have been happy.

I ran mine for a year at~38 all round but since moved them up to about 42. Anything in the thirties is too low IMO.

Hah, that is 2 females at 60 and 65 lbs each plus a 12 week old at 25 lbs! 150 lbs of lab would require some farm activities I don't condone! Thanks for the feedback, after reading Luke's post I'm adjusting them this morning. I think I'll try 38 all around for starters as it's winter and lots of snow. Appreciate the insight.

Don't forget to adjust the TPMS via MMI.

Those pressures on the door are now required by law to be for max loading. Look in your owner manual for the tire pressures recommended for regular use. Personally I use +2lbs more than the pressures recommended for regular use.
