Bluetooth backup camera problem

So I'm having trouble getting the bluetooth backup camera on my camper to connect. I've been using this camera with no problems for a couple of years on a 2014 Q5 TDI. We just got a 2017 Q7 Prestige and I pulled the camper with it today to make sure everything is good to go. The backup camera that always connects immediately on the Q5, just won't connect at all when being used on the Q7. To be clear, the only connection to the car is that the monitor for the camera gets it's 12v power from the cigarette lighter outlet. I thought it might be that the camera is a little farther from the monitor in the Q7 (vs the Q5) so I moved it to the outlet in the hatch area. Still wouldn't connect. I then backed the Q5 up to the camper, connected the trailer umbilical, plugged in the monitor and it immediately connected as usual. Am I missing something? Is there something different about the Q7, vs Q5 that might cause some sort of bluetooth interference maybe?

It sounds like your Q7 might have more electronic systems that could cause Bluetooth interference. Try turning off other Bluetooth devices or systems in the Q7 to see if that helps. Also, ensure that the Bluetooth versions of the Q7 and your camera are compatible. If these don’t resolve the issue, resetting both the camera and monitor could help.
