I have been searching all over including help from AI. Nothing helped until your post. This was several days of hunting and finally, uncheck byte 6, Bit 4. 2017 Q7... Thank you retom!!

I disabled them too, but there exists another way
I disabled the side marker lights using an obd tool, but I asked AI and it came back with details on another fix that involves adding a resistor to the power wires feeding the light bulb - this is not for the faint of heart. Apparently the smart engineers at Audi miscalculated either the load or the sensor specs for the light and since the SM circuitry is integrated deep within the headlight assembly the only way the dealership is willing to fix it is to replace the entire assembly for $6000. Was this by design to enrich dealerships or just an oversight I will never know. Not happy how Audi cornered me and thousands of customers like me.

I tried AI and it recommend this.The Fix: Replace the external LED Headlight Control Module plugged into the bottom/back of the headlight unit.
Part Needed: Look for the ZKW Melecs LED Module (Part number roughly matches 10000047480-04 or 7716161300b). These cost around $40–$60 online.
