Default December year end specials? Is this a good deal?

My rep at the dealer is a little vague. What exactly are the month end specials? And can I just get the same deal in Jan? I'm not quite ready to pull the trigger... but if its an excellent deal I might.

I'm looking at a 3.0 Q7 Premium w 20" wheels. MSRP is $59.5k, currently listed at $53.7k. That's about 10% off. I think there's an extra $1k this month?

10% off MSRP seems pretty good after browsing the forums here.

Inventives change every month

There is zero incentive money on a Q7 now, or going forward, except for owner loyalty. Owner loyalty incentive is only available if you have an 05+ Audi in your household. The amount can vary by region, but generally speaking, it is one dollar amount if you finance through Audi (lease or purchase), and a lesser amount (50%) if you finance through an outside institution (whether the dealer arranges it or not), or pay cash.

so is 10% off a $59k MSRP a good deal? Drove a Q7 3.0 today, really liked it. Preferred the 3.0 vs. the 2.0

all depends on exactly how the deal is structured

Aside from my trade in, what other factors should I be looking at regarding a deal structure?

Dealers can tend to add on fees that make little sense. You may see dealer prep fee that can range from a couple of hundred dollars to 700-800, so makes sure the dealer is reasonable. Then they can add some random fees like Nitrogen Fee or something called Taxable fee. In a nutshell, watch out for additional fee that will bring this discount down from 10% to 9 to 8%

Also, for the trade-in, take it to carmax to get an estimate. The dealer should match at least the carmax offer, but should in fact do better. Very often dealers will offer a really good price on the vehicle, only to recover the profit in a trade!

Without knowing details of the numbers, 10% is a very good deal. Usually end of the year is the best time to buy, because dealers really try to make their numbers. You can generally say good bye to big discounts in Jan

I agree with the others it sounds like a good deal, and as BigKutta said usually year end the dealer are trying to pad their numbers and usually in Jan the deals aren't good...

But in the end it depends on you. IMO if you were thinking of pulling the trigger in Jan or even early Feb, and this is the Q7 you want I would do it now. If you weren't planning to pull the trigger for 6 months then you may be better off waiting..

I got over 6400k off a 18 Prestige with a 68,7 sticker - so yes..10% is in line with this and a good deal.
