RS7 wider than A/S7?
Hi - My first post was as a lurker but have a new 2017 Performance on it's way taking possession this weekend. My 6 year wait is finally coming true.
A few questions:
- Looking at the external dimensions on the brochure, it only shows the width with mirrors being the same as the A7 & S7. Is the 7 body the same? Thought the fenders may be a bit wider.
- Does the RS7 suspension lower during highway driving or in dynamic mode?
- Reading the internet doctors there are 2 schools of thoughts on breaking-in the motor (aggressive or moderate per manual). I believe the car is tested on a track (thus why they have ~50 miles on them) but I don't know how aggressive the tester is. Any thoughts around this?
- The RS7 forum is a bit quite. Are there other forums to learn from?
Thank you

Congrats on the amazing machine coming your way!
- The RS7 is identical to the A7/S7 in terms of lengths, widths, fender shape etc. Not sure why they didn't do the same wider flares as the RS6, the RS6 is wider than the RS7 for that reason.
- With the 'Performance' RS7 you have the DRC suspension which is fixed height, unlike the Air Suspension variants which does provide car ride height control. Not to worry though the DRC suspension is outstanding with zero body roll in corners etc., it's physics defying.
- Nothing good can come by being aggressive driving a brand new car, all the components such as transmission, brakes and obviously engine have to bed-in regardless of what has happened at the factory. Have fun by all means and do some mind blowing sprints, but avoid anything for extended periods or hitting the rev limiter until you've hit a 1,000 miles or so.
- Yes this specific forum is ghostly quiet, but subscribe to the S6/S7 forums as there is much more activity there and the RS7 pretty much overlaps them in terms of commonality by 90%
Have Fun!
