My New RS7
I must be truly in Nirvana. I have looked at the RS7 for several months, and thought I must have made a mistake in special ordering a Mercedes E63 wagon last year. Really needed a wagon not SUV, as I have one crippled dog and can't stand the Benz six cyl in the wagon. I love high performance cars. Was in the neighborhood of my trusted Audi dealership and they had a '14 RS7 Panther Crystal Black on Black on the lot. Gave me a great deal and signed the paperwork on the spot. Now I really don't know which car to drive for fun!

I have had my RS7 ( Panther Black w/every option ). The most important option if you want to truly enjoy the car is to spend the additional $2700.00 for the built in radar and laser detector/shifter. The passport 9500ci. I have been driving the car since March. No tickets and typically drive the car around 95mph with short term burst into the 130s. The car is yawning and bored cruising at 95 but you push the pedal to the floor and it is at 130 in a few seconds. The car is just amazing.

Can you tell us where you put the laser shifters. I'm hearing that the honeycomb is too small to fit the shifter without cutting. I'm hoping this isn't true and would really like to know how your install went

I am interested in knowing that as well. On my R8, which has an RS-style grille, the shifters are mounted on the underside of the top horizontal fin on each side intake. But as I look at the RS7, the closest equivalent there does not appear to be an effective place to put the shifters.

These 5 pictures show where the laser shifter is mounted ( inside the grille ) and the rad sensors are mounts one ot each side outside which is the only down side to the install. No where to put the radar inside the grille. Inside the car, you will see the light mounted insdie the vent. Need this for when the radio is playing loud tunes. Then you can see the control module and the screen.
