Default RS7 Active roll stabilization?

Hi. I currently have an SQ8. I want to upgrade to an RS7. I’ve tried building on online. Does it come with Active roll stabilization or it’s own version of it? Will I miss it by not having it? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn’t offer it, and given it’s far lower center of gravity and lower weight vs an SQ anything, it wouldn’t need it

Getting the RS7 at this point would be the big hurdle. There aren’t allocations. Would very likely be pushed to a MY23

would the RS7 be considered an upgrade from an SQ8 and RSQ8? I was thinking about that as well.

An RS anything is an upgrade over an S counterpart for sure. Very different driving dynamics between the cars and SUVs

The active roll stabilization is something that the SUVs benefit from mostly due to their high center of gravity and high weight. It allows for a softer suspension. However, the RS7 can optionally be configured with the Dynamic Ride Control suspension, which has its own version of roll stabilization done in a unique way. It diagonally connects the opposite dampers via central valves that have three fixed positions for Comfort, Auto and Dynamic and counteract roll, squat and dive, but it's a fully mechanical 3-way adjustable passive system, not adaptive. The standard air suspension does have more body roll compared to the DRC, but the DRC is known to be harsh especially in Dynamic mode. Upgrade is all relative. A sedan to me is an upgrade over an SUV simply from a driving dynamics standpoint as it is lower to the ground and lighter. An SUV is basically a jacked up wagon with the aero dynamics of a shipping container.

thank you. If you get DRC, you don’t get Air suspension?

Correct, the DRC is a coil spring suspension that replaces the standard air suspension.

on an RS car, is it worth getting over the air suspension? Can DRC suspension be lowered with springs or coilovers?
