2008 RS4... MMI or RNS-E? Plus a few other questions...
It's confusing finding out which one we have. Which one is it?
Can the unit/system it be upgraded with a newer model?
Has anyone replaced it with an aftermarket system?
Thanks, guys.
PS: The iPod and lack of aux inputs suck!

You have the RNS-E.
Unfortunately the first gen RNS-E is not so good with respect to iPod integration (the system dates back to 2004).
Aftermarket is probably your best bet if you want proper iPod integration.

There is a second generation RNS-E that was released around 2 years ago.
Amongst other small improvements (higher res screen, support for 32gb SD cards etc) it also had support for the Audi Music Interface (AMI). From what I understand, this only works in full CAN based cars though such as the 8P A3/S3 and 8J TT.
