clear bra and tints install
im going to have the 3M stuff installed on the whole hood, fenders, front bumper/headlights/fogs and rocker panel and skirts. it's about $1700 installed, is that reasonable?
they quoted me $400 for 3M tints, i know i can get tints for cheaper but curious if anyone has 3M tints and is it worth the extra money.

$1700 for the clear bra????
Wow, I paid $600 for the clear bra, $300 for the tint ($900 total). They did the whole front end, flares on all 4 fenders, trunk bottom edge, top of rear bumper, door edges, under door handles, and the side skirts. Didn't do whole hood, only half, but still, $1700 seems very steep.

Insane price
The clear bra should not cost that much. not even close.
Also, I really don't like the way they look. Yeah, the car is protected but it is noticeable. I had the full nose kit on my B7S4 and it was installed well but you could see it a mile away (bright silver). I took it off after a year or so.
I have decided against it for the RS4.
tint price is actually fair for all the windows.

It depends on the installer and just how good they are. I had my whole car wrapped by Premier.
I piece of Venture Shield per body panel, Almost zero visibile seams, the film edge is wrapped to the underside of each panel, lots of waste, all custom, etc. I promise that you can't tell it is wrapped unless you look extremely closely.

It was expensive, but done right. So, $1700 is either outrageous or reasonable, depending on the install.

http://www.premiermobilegroup.com/gallery_audi.shtml</a

Where do you live? I work at a pcar dealer and we charge about $1500 for....
the same kind of work you're talking about on the 3m and tint is about the same $$ as you were quoted. I'm located in NYC. As a few people have said though it really is all about the install, and the fact that they'er using 1 piece - you get what you pay for. See if they will do everything for $1700 and if it is top shelf work - do it.

wow, the entire car?
first time i've heard of that - i've seen cars wrapped in colored film, but never the full car in clear.
any idea how much weight it added? do you wax it?
