something missing or identify this part
Snooping around under the hood, in the area between the engine and the firewall. I took the cover marked with a battery off, and found a loose cover underneath. Is this a random part that shouldn't be there? For the life of me I couldn't find where the clips are supposed to go.
This pic shows the general area:

This shows where I think the part goes, but there is nothing to snap it in. It is just resting loose on top of those lines:

Last two pics show the top and bottom of the mystery loose part. Note the 3 clips on the underside that don't seem to have a home.
