Thanks for the detailed description. One more question, is it actually a smooth finished matte(or flat) type aluminum or is it more of a brushed aluminum look? I'm just wondering.

I think I would call it brush aluminum look, it's not reflective. You could go to a dealer and check it out for yourself. Here, I am assuming the aluminum trim look the same in an A4 and an S4.

Alum .....
I went in to order with CF on the brain. But, when I started looking and thinking about it with the Alcantara interior, I felt the CFs looks got lost in the dark interior while the Alum trim worked well with the Alcantara and the exterior Alum trim.

So in the end, check them both out and you'll have a preference.
