ESP Light
I've been back to my dealer at least 5 times for the same problem. My ESP light comes on at random times when driving- not under any skids. Dry pavement, in fact. According to one post it might have been a centrifugal wheel speed sensor. The dealer assured me it wasnt that.
Just like most of you, I'm sure, dropping off the car at the dealer for an entire day is usually not very convenient. Especially when it is your only car. So for 5 separate days that I've taken off from work, I've come back with the problem unsolved every single time with no progress.
Techs have looked at it, pulled codes, looked at wiring diagrams, and even had some other Audi tech from a different dealer look into it. All without a solution to the problem. The latest was that the dealer needs the car for approximately 3 days when I get back from a 2-month overseas trip in January.
The service tech and advisor are apologetic and are trying to appease me, this time by offering a loaner for the 3-day dropoff in January. That's the first time they've officially offered- before they couldn't offer a loaner because I purchased the car from a different dealer. I think they are starting to notice how much of an inconvenience this is becoming.
I'm not really looking for any sympathy, but can see where a lot of people get turned off by the service department. What should I do if this keeps happening besides talking to a service manager? And with that, what should I request for a remedy to the problem? I imagine replacing the traction control/ESP system is more than a few hours of labor.
Cheers
