Default Actually it is not because of the Quattro system...

If anything the Quattro system will help in the rearward shift of weight because of the extra drive shafts, centre Torsen and the rear diff.
The best balanced A4/S4 in the Avant, again because of the extra weight in the rear.

The Main reason the car is not 50/50 in weight distribution is because the weight of the engine sits right on top of the front axle and even ahead. Roughly speaking you're looking at around 60% of the weight in the front, 40% in the rear +/- 2% for the different configurations and models of cars.

But the reason the engine is so far forward is because of the awd system so you can blame quattro

Default Well, how come the FWD versions are no better? Rumour is that in the B7 A4, they addressed....

This problem by moving the engine back in the chassis 4 cm.

Because Audi uses longitudal engine configuration even on FWD cars ('cept TT)?
