Default Rant...............

I traded "up" to my 2005.5 S4 back in March from my mod'd B5S4. I missed the torque but liked the "smoother" feel and the hope that the large number of problems that started to plague the B5 wouldn't persist with the B7, which I had read had at least a bullet proof motor. Between failed trunk latches, headlights, window motors, etc. I am a "little" frustrated. Could be the fact my wife was just induced 7 weeks early with our new baby girl (she is OK!) my bathroom is being renovated and my furnace decided to just "quit". Looking for some confirmation I made the right choice with the B7! RANT!

Default You've still spent less than you did with your B5

Congrats on the baby!! I hope everyone is healthy and doing well

And my parents are architects, so have faith that the bathroom will be finished soon ;-)

Default I've had a 2005.5 since March 05, and my experience has been good.

I've had a few minor problems, including the trunk latch and headlight that you mention, plus the gas door latch and one coil pack. For me it was all under warranty. In any case, they were spread out over 3.5 years and didn't seem bad to me. Great car overall. If you've had all those problems in just a few months, though, I can see why you might be frustrated.

Other than the coil pack, the motor seems to be bulletproof. Others have complained about clutch issues, but I have had none. But then again, I don't "launch" the car or track it. I also have a weird issue where my audio system (RNS-E) is silent when the car is very cold until the interior warms up, but nobody else has reported that.

Default Little things that go wrong on ALL Audis...

So you'd probably be dealing with them all eventually on the B5 too...just use some of those deep breathes you guys learned in birth class, get in your car, drive around a country road, and remember why you bought the car And congrats to you and your wife btw, glad to hear she is okay!

Default That's true..I'm doing the same as you to do a B7S4 here in a few months-

Everything I've read, heard, dealt with the V8 is bulletproof. And Im begging to think I might have some of the same issues with windows, mirrors what not. Thats about all I've really heard about B6/7s. I can't wait!
