RNS-E issues
I know it's been discussed before, and I knew of this issue before I picked up my new Avant. But, has anybody solved the issue of the NAV system attempting to guide you to a destination even though it had been reached or guidance was cancelled. It seems to be an intermittent thing.

Yes, answer inside.
The key is to clear out the destination information after you have reached/cancelled it. After reaching your destination, or before you drive away next time, go to the region selection screen and select whichever region you are in. This will clear out the destination information and the nav will not try to guide you there anymore. Every time I reach a destination I do this and then don't have trouble with it trying to guide me again.
I believe the 2007 RNS-E software has a fix for this. Maybe someone can confirm?

Does that just stop the route guidance, or remove the destination as well?
The problem isn't with stopping the route guidance, it is with keeping it from guiding you there again even though you haven't asked it to.

i haven't had to do that, and i haven't had the problem you're having
the key as far as i can tell is to either terminate route guidance or make sure the system actually confirms you've reached the destination at which point it terminates route guidance. assuming you're doing either of those, sounds like a software issue and if you don't have an aftermarket setup (i.e. didn't come with the car) i'd have the dealer take a look at it.

Do you want me to send you the 0150 software update files?
This will update your Nav+ and you won't have that problem anymore. I had that problem happen quite ofter (almost every restart) until this update. Now going on 3 months and I haven't had it happen since.
