Destination is part of the invoice. I'm unsure about advertising fee, but if it is part of the invoice it is part of the deal.

as Talbot said.

A few things go down the toilet on a new car (in most states) before you drive away. Tax Tag, title and destination charges. Everything else is negotiable, depending on the time of the month or year

The should be no advertising fees nor car prep fees. If there are, tell them you are not paying them.

FWIW, the advertising fee is a real cost to the dealer from Audi.

Yes it's a real cost to the dealer, but it's a cost that you shouldnt pay in addition to their mark-up.

It sounds really strange to me that there are dealerships who won't discuss pricing on the 2013 models now... Ive had MY 2013 model on order for three weeks now and we agreed to $1,500 off invoice price (I am paying the $500 state filing fees) even then. You should definitely go to another dealership if there is one not interested in your business.

You got your dealer to sell you a MY2013 for $1500 below invoice?

Yeah I couldn't pass it up, but I had some leverage. My uncle bought an r8 from this dealership last year and he's done 95k of mods, they don't want to risk losing his business, so they gave me a deal I couldn't refuse.

$1500 below invoice is below the dealer's cost. It seems hard to believe they're willing to lose money selling you a car, but okay.

I agree, it is hard to believe! My uncle buys cars pretty often, and he always pays the sticker price because money to him isn't a factor and would rather not deal with the negotiating, and would never allow someone else to negotiate for him (pride thing). So they made about ~$16k on the r8 sale to my uncle. He's the ideal customer for any dealership, so they are keeping me happy.

But even if my uncle wasn't in the picture, depending on the size of the dealership you could almost always negotiate down to sticker or +500, especially with Audi as they have strong incentives for high volume dealerships. At least that's how it is here in NJ.

Maybe you mean to say "$1500 over invoice?" Or "$1500 off MSRP?". $1500 off invoice doesn't sound right.
