engine shutdown

My engine quit while driving at 40 mph yesterday. No warning ights came on but suddenly no engine power including no power steering or power brakes. It was a bit hairy. I stopped and tried to start it up and it turned over and and rode fine. No warning lights after. Only possibility is that moments before my "refuel" icon came on - I was heading to a gas station. Any ideeas?

If you have access to a VAGCOM cable run a scan and post up your codes, if any.

Hopefully, the car has thrown a code that the dealer can access. That could be big trouble if it happenned in the wrong place or the wrong time. your lucky. But now you have a car that could be a time bomb. Or not.

Silly question, were you going around a hard turn? The only thing I can think of is that a high G extended turn would make the fuel slosh to one side of the tank and the pickup would fail to ingest fuel. Assuming you weren't running it hard then I'd definitely take it to the dealer.
