Default I went with quartz on my Allroad...

and am debating between quartz and ice for my S4. I am probably not going to order for another 6 months to a year. Until then I will live vicariously through all you guys :-)

I went with the quartz because, as another poster mentioned, it is all ice and rain up here in the PNW and the gray is very easy to keep clean. Hides the road garbage very well.

I wish something would go wrong with my allroad so I could make the move into the S4 but the darn thing just keeps trucking along with no problems. Well, scratch that, my front suspension has been lowering itself to rest on the wheels as of late. I am having it checked today and I do have en extended so i am all set.

I'm liking all these comments about Quartz as my on-order S4 will arrive in that shade. I only had a chance to see one briefly in the flesh. It's interesting how some colors improve or detract from the appearance of particular car designs. The S4 overall has pretty understated lines. To my eye, some of the detail gets lost with really dark colors. One the other hand, I saw a white A4 and it looked too much like a kitchen appliance. Anyway, I have my fingers crossed that I'll love Quartz and Tuscan Brown, and that I'll get better than 15 mpg, and that the water pump stays together and the valves stay clean!

Yep, I have some pics of mine on various threads (I guess I should make an album here to make it easier) as I went with a clearbra, 6K HID and yellow fog upgrades. The wood does look nice with the alcantara and Quartz, though I do wish the wood inside the Gray Birch tree was more gray and less brown

I had an Audi 2001 S4 and the gray wood trim was really gray & very nice, unlike the current version, which is more brown than I care for.

I have seen the Ice Silver, Daytona Grey, Quartz Grey and Meteor Grey in overcast lighting conditions. Of these colours, in decreasing order are Daytona Grey, Quartz Grey, Ice Silver, and Meteor Grey.

Daytona Grey is right in between the Quartz Grey and Meteor Grey and it seemed to have a much more metallic finish than the Quartz or Meteor Grey. I liked the Daytona Grey far better than the other 3 colours but unfortunately its a CAD$2500 option. I didn't like the look of the Meteor in the overcast light, it looked kind of dull and had a purpulish tinge to it at certain angles. I thought the Ice Silver looked a little too plain. Of the 3 standard grey colours, I would personally choose the Quartz Grey, it had some "personality" in the lighting conditions I viewed the car in. That being said, I went with Phantom Black.

Default My last 2 S4's were both silver

so I went for Quartz to change things up a little. Since I'm not a fan of the two-tone seats, I wanted a lighter color exterior to go with the only other choice black interior. I think the Quartz shows the lines of the car well, and it does seem to hide dirt also.

I was pretty well decided on Quartz untill I saw Silver in person.

Silver with 19 inch wheels looks fantastic. I do not regret my choice.

I suggest you look at a Silver S4 in person before you make a decision.

This is helpful...I have a Diamond Graphite G35 as well, actually really like the color. If it was a tinge darker, I'd be even happier I think.

So if the Quartz is like the G35 Graphite, this is probably the color for me (other than special ordering Daytona Gray, but I'm not sure the extra money is worth it)...

So the real question for you guys moving out of the G35 to the B8 S4...was it worth it (price diff and all?)...

Mine was not diamond graphite, it was graphite gray, not sure when they changed color names/shades, but this was on a '05 G35 coupe.

Sounds like you chose the Silver. Did you get a chance to see both the Quartz and Silver in person?

PS: I saw/drove a Silver with 19's back in the fall. Was impressed enough to circle the vehicle quite a few times (and it was a really cold day on the lot). The car was sold a day later, and I haven't seen another Silver on the lot since. All of the S4's my local dealers have been getting lately are either Ibis or Meteor. Have not yet seen a Quartz S4 in person. While I'm a fan of the Silver, it would be great to see Silver and Quartz S4's side-by-side to be sure.
