Default Loaded S4 vs. Base Panamera

I was at Rector Porsche Audi a few months ago for my free 5000 mile oil service and I was poking around the showroom. They had a bone stock black Panamera in the showroom for $70k. I actually saw a decent amount of value in it, as a trade up from the S4. It seemed very...within reach. What do you guys think? Have you actually sat in one? The interior materials were a noticeable upgrade. It felt very batmobile.

One thing I will say, I can't find a single girl on the planet who thinks it's a sexy car. But they all love the S4.

Base Panamera is 0-60 6 seconds. Booo!

Porsche's don't come with **** either so the base model is really the base model.

If you were to get the base panamera with just the sports chrono the performance wouldn't be that far off of the S4. One of the major car magazine (forgot which) tested a base panamera 4 last month and ran in 0-60 in 4.9. The car is much lighter then its V8 counterparts, and still has a 300/300 output. However, the ultimate key is the transmission. The PDK is arguably the best automatic transmission, short of ferrari's F1, in the world. It's so efficient and so fast that it is bringing performance to the next level. Coupled with the sports chrono, which increases boost, it can't be beat. The PDK transmission on the base panamera is the same as that on the Panamaera turbo (500 horsepower) and 911 turbo S (530 horsepower) which have been ran 0-60 at 3.3 and 2.7 respectably. Finally it is a porsche. Re sale value is second to known, build quality is legendary, and again its a porsche.

Finally the new p-cars are coming with more std equipment. The panamera comes standard with power everything, navigation, and blue tooth. Not to mention the interior is the nicest out there short of a bentley or rolls Not bad for a 70K porsche.

I wouldn't screw around with a Panamera. Get a 911 if you are going P-car.

The problem with this comparison is that the Panamera is god awful ugly. No offense to anyone who thinks they're pretty, but you could put any badge you want on it, I would never even think about purchasing one - even if I had unlimited funds.

An S4 and a Panamera are simiilar practicality and use. A 911 is not in any way shape or form.

A Panamera Turbo is also over $150k, assuming you can even get your hands one easily. So getting a loaded one is not smart. You could buy his and hers Panamera Base AND S4 for that price and probably get more utility.

For the love of god the Panamera is one of the ugliest cars ever made. Its as smooth-ugly as the Aztec was angular-ugly. Hope that made sense. Looks like some designers kid was putting silly-putty on a 911 advertisement and then stretched it out of proportion. For some reason that kids father thought it was a good idea to put it into development.
