Default Milltek again

The dealer I spoke with only sells the non-resonated exhaust because he said the resonated one is not significantly different than stock.

Vendors - please PM me with a price quote if you'd like to steal the business. Ship to 94105.

I will know the real difference in a couple days. I own a Milltek non-res and have recently bought resonated rears for it as it is pretty loud for me in some instances. I will report back after install/breakin. I don't think anything can be as pathetic sounding as the stock exhaust IMO. I ran a Milltek exhaust on my last S4 and liked it.

Hey Bruce,
Were you getting a drowning or just too much sound from your Milltek? I'd love to get a more free flowing exhaust with a bit more bass, but after running AWE twins on my B5 S4, I'm leary of drone. They were sweet when hard on the throttle, but sucked in traffic on my commute. Looking forward to your comparison with resonated

Have you considered our Exhaust?

It features specially developed Helmholtz Resonators to eliminate drone, is manufactured by our in-house Fabrication Department and is available your choice of Polished Silver or Diamond Black tips.

Which one of our Twin systems were you running? What downpipes did you have it mated up too?

Hey Alex. It was the Twin 2 system on stock downpipes and an MTM chip. Sounded great and there was a noticeable improvement in responsiveness, but for me, the drone between 2,000 and 2,300 rpm was headache inducing. This was back in 2004(?)
I do remember being impressed with the fit and finish. Has all the drone been eliminated from your current exhaust?

To me the Milltek non-res has a resonance (drone) at ~2500 RPM under load. Sounds very sweet under throttle though, but when I take off from a light briskly, sounds like I am racing people.

I had the Milltek resonated rears installed today. Talk about stealth, no drone at all, but pretty quiet unless you go WOT. I will wait until this exhaust is broken in for my next comments.

I did run a full Milltek exhaust on my stage 3 B5 S4 and had a nice low tone and sounded great at WOT.

I would highly recommend that you consider the AWE exhaust. I have heard it personally and sounds great. Don't give up on the non resonated milltek either. i suggest you contact Stratosphere to talk about the milltek and various options you have with that exhaust as well. Do a little of your own leg work .

Dr GP. I have both variations of the Milltek exhaust rears (resonated, non-resonated) and can swap between them in 15 min. I will not be buying an AWE exhaust or any other exhaust though... As I said in my QW B8 S4 post on this topic this is a science experiment that I am checking out about the diff between the resonated and non-resonated Milltek... I like both my Millteks

Default It does sound sweet, but....

...as much as I punch it, I'm afraid I'd attract too much attention! I like the fact that my stock S4 sounds a bit stealthy - because it allows me to get away with wicked sprints through holes in traffic!
