what do they weigh? That's really the only thing that matters in that regard. 20" wheels that weigh 24 lbs a piece may be better for acclerating than 19" stockers at closer to 30 lbs

Anyone know what the stasis 20s weigh?

I get your point, but the polar moment of inertia is very important (where the weight is distributed). A wheel with a lot of weight far from the hub vs. a wheel of the same weight concentrated close to the hub will require more energy to accelerate and decelerate.

I detect an engineer posting this.... And you are correct! For the non-engineering types out there: overall weight matters as far as accelerating the whole car's mass in a straight line. Weight distribution in the wheel matters as far as the energy required to spin that wheel up. Any pinewood derby freaks out there? That's why on my sons pinewood derby car, we lifted one wheel off the track and ran with only three wheel in contact.

Youse guys is teh funneh!

ONE magazine gets ONE run that shows 12.9, (not on a dragstrip, and using GPS timing equipment as was pointed out), and suddenly that's what all B8 S4s are "supposed to" run!?!? Hah!

No hate here, BTW - but the facts don't support the idea that a stock S4 will run 12.anything in the 1/4. R&T's run was an outlier, not the average or norm. C&D and MT typically get better times, and no other magazine has been able to run lower than 13.2 for a stock vehicle.

Add in the factor of the weight of the (admittedly sharp-looking) 20" wheels, and the time looks even better.

Just sayin'....

Primetime had 13.06 stock, on a DSG S4 and under 12.9 with only the Strat intake. So far, the stock MT6 S4s seem to be capable of faster times than the stock DSG S4s. Time will tell, if this stays true.

I dunno guys. If you're not sure whether the STASIS tune makes your car faster in the quarter than stock, it's hardly worth spending $1500, right?

Or does the fact that you can say that your car now makes over 400 hp - whether it's actually faster or not - make it worth it to ya?

Trying to talk yourself out of pulling the trigger?

The car feels stronger after the tune, but one would need to drive a stock version back to back with the tuned version to validate.

You I'm mean trying to talk myself *into* pulling the trigger!

This thread is supposed to give me hard data, not get me to rely on subjective back to back data, right?

Looking at that article in Motor Trend, it reads like a Stasis advertisement, though Stasis says the 0-60 number is 4.2 seconds & the article has 4.4 seconds. It would be more convincing if they compared a stock S4 & the Stasis S4.
