Audi is offering compensation... what do I ask for

Default Audi is offering compensation... what do I ask for

Audi of America called me today to offer to "make things right" they want to compensate me in some way for not having my s4 for 2 months+ for service of a part that took only 2 days to replace. They have refused to refund me the 150 dollars cash that i was originallyl seeking... long story not important.

but they said I should put in a "request" for something that audi can do for me and they will consider it.

Has anyone been compensated in the past ? any examples or Ideas?

I am going to "high" ball them with "I would like an Audi Phatbox Mp3 player please"

But they will most likely reject that (even though i think not having my car for 2 months is worth just about that price tag)

What else can I ask for? An Audi car cover? A few extra oil changes/services added to my warrenty? Maybe they will extend my warrenty by 10,000 miles or something? i am not sure what to ask for or what to demand.

p.s. Remember they called me and asked me what "they could do for me".

Default that's strange... they wouldn't just refund the $150?

seems like for 2+ months of your car being out of service, they'd owe you more than that anyways.

Default BTW, they did the same thing for me...

when they found out that a tranny fluid leak after I had my entire tranny replaced had caused some major problems, but it took them 8 months to figure it out. Out of those 8 months, I was without my car for 3.5 months total. I said give me a new clutch and flywheel. Alas, they were happy to oblige. :-)

Default I got an extra 12,000 miles and 1 yr factory warranty + an extra set of wheels

when I had less of a problem with my A4 2.8.

Go for it!

Min the value of 2 payments, try to get Audi Assured or something (But the PhatBox is SWEET)

Default So i should ask for them to extend my warrenty to 100,000 miles and a phat box

and see which of those they give me?

Default $150 part + 2 months + inconvenience + incompetence = more than an MP3

I would be a little stronger than settling for an immediate "no". How about trying for lost use of car and still paying for it like Paul said, and for them to make up the difference in appreciation as a valued customer. Make a list of expensive items and then work your way down. Meet in the middle like if you were haggling. If they don't accept hang up and then call back doing the same thing over again.
